The Citadel

The Citadel Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Edmonton in the Arts District and houses five performing spaces: Shoctor Theatre, Maclab Theatre, Rice Theatre, Tucker Amphitheatre and Zeidler Hall.

We are Canada’s largest not-for-profit theatre. In our 2007-08 season we present 11 plays and the Teens @ The Turn Festival, a 10-day series of theatre events created by teens for teens.

We are home to the Eldon and Anne Foote Theatre School which offers theatre classes, workshops and camps for children, teens and adults.

We invest in the creation of new work and have committed to developing and premiering two new Canadian plays each year by the 2008/09 season.
