The Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta is looking for a highly organized team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our Education team as Program Assistant for our 2022 Summer Camps. This is a full-time, temporary position for the summer of 2022.
Function/Role:
Reporting to the Director of Education & Outreach and the Theatre School Manager, the Program Assistant will provide support for administrative tasks pertaining to our summer camps. Approximately 30 one- and two-week long camps will be running at the Citadel over the course of six weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with theatre school summer programming
- Assisting with the execution of week-long summer camps for children and youth, including special classes for children with autism
- Helping instructors teach communication skills, cooperation, adaptability, problem-solving, analytical thinking, leadership, self-reliance, discipline, sympathy, trust and empathy
- Organization of final performances (in-person, digital, or a combination therein)
- Communication with Instructors regarding their classes
- Assisting in the theatre school office with any regular administrative work pertaining to the theatre school.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with youth either in Educational or Supervisory capacities
- Experience and knowledge of Canadian theatre is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working on Microsoft programs including Outlook, Excel and Word
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required for this position.
The hourly rate is $16.00
July 4-August 12, 2022 (35 hour work week, Monday-Friday, 8:30AM – 4:30PM).
