The Citadel Theatre, one of Canada’s largest and busiest professional, not-for-profit theatre companies and facilities, is currently seeking temporary, part-time casual Merchandise Sales Representatives from January 27 to March 7, 2025. Reporting to the Front of House Manager, the Merchandise Sales Representative (MSR) performs a critical role in selling merchandise during desired performances. The primary responsibilities of this role are to manage and maintain merchandise inventory, to sell merchandise during performances, and to create and maintain sales reporting which ensuring compliance with Citadel Theatre policies and supporting the overall success of the organization.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure the highest possible level of customer service to all patrons visiting the Citadel Theatre.
- Receive, organize, and track inventory of production merchandise in accordance with Citadel Theatre training.
- Prepare a merchandise display in the lobby and sell merchandise before and after productions, and during intermission, consistent with Citadel Theatre standards.
- Use a Point-of-Sale system to process transactions, run reports, and maintain inventory with a high level of accuracy.
- Perform opening and end of day procedures.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Citadel Theatre’s external policies to properly answer patron questions.
- Ensure security of company assets.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills:
- Point-of-Sale system setup and usage.
- Ability to adopt new technology quickly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, very busy, quickly changing environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Accurate reporting of sales and inventory data.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- 2+ years of retail/merchandising experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- Availability from January 27 to March 7, 2025.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs to shoulder height.
