New Year’s Eve at the Citadel Theatre

LOCATION: THE LEE PAVILION

Ring in 2026 with a bright, family-friendly celebration in the heart of Edmonton’s Arts District! Join Citadel Theatre for an evening of music, activities, and festive fun for all ages!

  • Family DJ Dance Party with DJ Seaglass, featuring Citadel Theatre’s 50′ digital Light Wall (Canada’s largest indoor screen outside of a sports arena!)
  • Roving Balloons and Arts District Balloon Installation (featuring Dorothy & Toto!) from Edmonton Balloon Artist Phileas Flash
  • Face Painting by Miss Ye, Amy and Celine
  • Indoor viewing of fireworks (launched from the roof of the Stanley A. Milner Library!) at 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM
  • Free cookies and glowsticks for the first 200 guests
  • GhostLight by MilkCrate will be open to the public from 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM
  • PlayWright will be open for drinks, and casual bites in to-go containers and trays 6:00 PM-12:00 AM.

LOCATION: THE SHOCTOR LOBBY

Enjoy an adults-only space with a full bar and an excellent indoor (and warm!) front row seat to the fireworks at midnight, launched from the roof of the Stanley A. Milner Library.

Outside food and drinks are not permitted. 18+ only

When entering the lounge, children must not be left unattended in the Lee Pavilion

Important Access & Road Closure Information for New Year’s Eve

Road Closures

  • Streets surrounding Churchill Square and the Arts District will be closed to vehicle traffic in the evening. Please check current traffic routes before making your way downtown.
  • Sidewalks on 99 Steet and 100 Street will remain open for pedestrians

Parking & Transit

  • The Stanley A. Milner Library Parkade will close at 4:00 PM—no entry or exit after this time.
  • LRT access to the Lee Pavilion will be closed. Please use the Churchill Connector instead.

Building Access

  • Entry to the Citadel Theatre will be through the North Doors on 102 Avenue only.

On-Site Support

  • Commissionaires will be stationed throughout the area to assist with directions and access.
