DONATION OPTIONS

• Highest Priority Needs – Your gift will advance the Citadel Theatre’s highest priority needs, helping enhance theatre programs and productions and ensure that the Citadel Theatre continues to thrive and grow.
• Foote Theatre School – Young people are our future and, as such, we are committed to providing opportunities that champion their creative voices and foster their love for theatre. Donate to the Foote Theatre School today and help support over 1,000 students annually in their journey as artists.
• BIPOC Fund – The Citadel Theatre believes that equity and diversity must be at the heart of our organization. In order to make this a reality, we have made a commitment to support racialized artists at all stages of their careers in all areas of our organization. To help provide critical internal positions, training, internships, mentorship and contracts for racialized artists and theatre workers throughout the company, we’ve created the Citadel BIPOC Fund which allows patrons and donors to join us in supporting this important work.
• New Play Development – Over the last decade, the Citadel has developed and produced 22 World Premieres, 13 of which have been subsequently produced elsewhere, taking the name of the Citadel and Edmonton around the world. The emphasis of New Play Development at the Citadel is on innovative ideas, an inclusive approach and a bold international vision. It encompasses commissions, workshops, the Playwrights Lab and the Collider Festival. More information is available here.
• Seat Dedication – Make a donation today to celebrate a special occasion or honour the memory of a loved one. Purchase a dedicated seat plaque in one of our theatre spaces for a donation of $1,000. Contact us to learn more about our Seat Dedication program.
• Memorial or Tribute Gifts –Memorialize a loved one or honour a friend or colleague with a gift to the Citadel. We will acknowledge your honouree in our donor listings.

 

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE

• Ticket donations – If you can’t make it to your play, we encourage you to contact our Box Office to arrange an exchange, or offer the tickets to a friend. Alternatively, you can donate the tickets to the Citadel and receive a tax receipt for their value. Contact our Box Office for more information.

 

• Gifts in Wills – When you include the Citadel Theatre in your estate plans, you contribute to ensuring future generations experience the transformative power of live theatre. Gifts in Wills can also provide you with valuable reductions in estate and income taxes. • Employee Matching Programs – Many Canadian employers generously match contributions made by their employees to charitable organizations like the Citadel Theatre. We encourage you to speak with your employer to determine if matching funds are available at your organization.

 

• Endowment – Your donation can provide ongoing support and position the Citadel for long-term sustainability and growth through the Citadel Theatre Fund held at Edmonton Community Foundation. Today, your donation makes a greater impact because every dollar contributed is matched through the Canada Cultural Investment Fund!

DONOR BENEFITS

The Citadel has different levels of benefits to celebrate our supporters.

• Contributions of $25 or more receive a tax receipt in accordance with CRA guidelines.
• Annual contributions of $100 or more will be recognized in our production playbills for one year. All donations will be listed in our Annual Report.
• If you would like your donation to remain anonymous, please let us know.
