Young Production Company

Students work with professional technicians at the Citadel Theatre in their respective fields before putting their new skills to work on the Young Acting & Musical Company workshop productions.
Applications for 2021/22 Season have closed.
Want to start thinking about your application for next season? In your application package, you’ll let us know what area(s) of technical theatre, design, or production you are interested in (although you will be exposed to multiple disciplines throughout the course of the year) and why you’d like to be a part of the company. If you have samples of your work, you may upload those with your application.
There are no regularly scheduled classes for the Young Production Company. Classes will meet based upon the interest of participants and the availability of people and programs. Previous years have seen sessions in directing, stage management, production management, scenic painting, set/costume/lighting design, film/video design, etc. The company averages one session per month from September to February.
Beginning in March, students will be assigned to one of the two productions of the Young Acting and Musical Companies. They will work as Assistant Stage Managers, assistant directors, assistant designers, or in another area of interest. The performances are held at the end of May in the Rice Theatre at the Citadel.
