Teen Playwriting Workshop

Your new play starts here! For beginner and experienced playwrights alike, this class will give you the tools to capture your ideas and get them onto the page where they belong. Guided by a seasoned local playwright, you will explore character, plot, dialogue, story structure, and more. Complete with writing exercises, tools, and in-class feedback sessions, by the end of this Playwriting Workshop you’ll have a polished 10-minute script – perfect for submitting to your high school one-act festival, or as the first ten minutes of your three-act epic!

Please note that a high level of commitment is required for this class. To best support your fellow Ensemble members, anyone with multiple absences may not be able to perform in the final presentation. Students may not be absent for any classes in March, including the final presentation.

Our schedule is designed so students may enroll in both the Acting and Musical Theatre Ensembles. Students who register for both courses receive a 15% multiclass discount.

The final presentation will take place in Zeidler Hall at the Citadel on March 15, 2025. Exact performance time will be shared in the Fall.
